Mr. Matthew Moran Maupin

January 11, 1966 – October 9, 2025

Mr. Mathew Moran Maupin, age 59, of Fort Payne, Alabama passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025.

Matt was born on January 11, 1966 in Blountstown, Florida and graduated from Fort Payne High School. He held several jobs including working at Cooper Hosiery and at several of the local radio stations in the area. Matt’s favorite job however was at Wills Valley Elementary School where he was affectionately referred to as “Mr. Matt”. Matt had a soft spot for animals especially cats and cheered for two football teams, The University of Alabama and Florida State University.

He is survived by:

Nieces: Marlena Woods (Cortney) & Danielle Bolton

Nephew: Chase Dunn

Great-Nieces: Kalynn Jones & Willow Bolton

Great-Nephews: Dezmen Davis, Keigan Davis, & Silas Dunn

Special Friends: Beverly Jane Caufield & Lisa White
