Mr. Jimmy Wayne Owens, age 76, of Fort Payne, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.

Jimmy was born in Fort Payne, Alabama on September 15, 1947 to Leonard William Owens & Josie Lena King Owens. He graduated from Fort Payne High School in 1965 and went to work at Sola Electric which would later become Emerson-Appleton Group. Jimmy worked there for 48 years where he was eventually the Plant Manager before his retirement.

He is survived by:

Children: Michael Owens (Renee), Toni Shores (Bruce), & Nick Owens (Brittney)

Grandchildren: Jacob Owens, Jared Owens, Melissa Whited (Josh), Meg Gilbert (Josh), Mac Owens, & Emmie Drew Owens

Preceded in death by:

Wife: Gwendolyn Joyce Owens

Brothers: William Owens & Bobby Owens

Sister: Billie Caneer

My sincerest condolences to the family of Jimmy Owens on his passing. I knew Jimmy Owens for many years as a friend, plant manager and overall great person/human being. He had a heart of gold. He will be solely missed, but his light will shine on with all the fond memories. May he rest in peace.
