Jimmy D. Alverson, 63, of Fort Payne, AL passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at DeKalb Regional Medical Center. He was employed at GH Metal Solutions and was the Honorary Associate Pastor at Mt. Carmel Wesleyan Church.

My Brother,
We have walked many a mile in the last 20 years, some through the water, some through the flood, some through the fire but every inch through The Blood! I marveled at the way you would take God's Word and explain it through farming, growing plants and animals. You was Country and Cornbread, always Jimmy all the time. I envied your pure heart that somehow was untouched by the evil in this world even before you asked in to live inside. A piece of me died yesterday. One one side, I'm broken, weeping, a wreck. But on the other side at peace, joyful knowing you are finally free of the burdens of this life. You have fought a good fight, you have finished the course and most of all kept the faith. I watched the first time the Holy Spirit moved on you to minister and sat in awe of the miracle working power of God bringing forth the manifold depths of His Word through the mouth of a man who felt unworthy to be called a Preacher. I love you Jimmy and you are closer to me know than yesterday. You are with God, He lives inside of me. So there is only a thin veil separates us know and when I walk behind it, maybe we can talk awhile!
