Mr. Douglas Alan Shanklin, age 68, of Mentone, AL passed away on Friday, March 13, 2020 at Erlanger Hospital. Doug was born in South Bend, IN on July 12, 1951. Doug served in United States Marine Corps and was retired as a car dealership finance manager.

Met Doug at Charleston Southern University (Baptist College 55+ years ago). We both enjoyed sports. Doug was on a basketball scholarship and I played soccer. Became friends, he was in my wedding. He said he wanted to be a movie star.
After school we lost touch, didn’t have internet back then and just having a successful life took time. God bless the family. Was happy to see Doug made it to Hollywood and got to be an actor. Sorry he isn’t around anymore.
