Dorothy, Debbie, Charlotte & family, we mourn with you. Chuck was your central figure, and he loved you all. He was a part of us too. He was not just our brother -in-law, but our brother. He loved Mom & Dad & they loved him a lot. His gentleness, kindness, intellect, “big heart” , big sense of humor were admirable, but his love for Dottie or “Big D” can’t be forgotten! God followed Chuck in his journey here from humble beginnings in Tennessee, to Illinois, back to Tennessee, then to Alabama & then home to his beloved Tennessee! All including 61 years of a blessed marriage with Dottie! Beautiful & grateful memories I have always & will continue to carry about Chuck thru His Schwin bike (Charlotte ‘s) & the Kilmer Image drawings he taught all of us to draw. I have shared them with my kids & grandkids. We will miss Chuck too, I’ll always remember his tall stance with arms folded, or sitting with arms folded... and oh can’t forget the “toothpick” or whistle! With open arms , I have no doubt God is saying to Chuck ... “welcome good & faithful servant”! Dear God, please say hello to Chuck for us, and thank you for allowing Chuck to be a part of our lives!
