Mrs. Colleen Kilgro Jones

July 5, 1956 – August 14, 2026

Colleen Jones, age 70, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2026. She was born on July 5, 1956, in Teaneck, New Jersey to Patricia Kilgro.

Colleen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She dedicated more than 30 years of her life working at W. Y. Shugart and Sons, where she was a valued and hardworking member of the company.

Colleen was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, where she served in many roles throughout the years. Her Catholic faith was an important part of her life, and she found great joy in serving others. One of the ministries especially dear to her heart was serving her local community through the food bank. Colleen had a giving heart and believed in helping those around her whenever she could.

Above all else, Colleen cherished her family. Nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She treasured every family gathering, every conversation, and every moment she was able to share with those she loved.

Colleen was married to her beloved husband, Jimmy Jones, for 51 years. Together, they built a life filled with love, faith, family, and countless memories. Their family was their greatest blessing.

Colleen is survived by her daughters, Dana Pangle (Terry), Tessa Hilley (Matthew), and Brittney Jones (Rob); her grandchildren, Raven Fiquett (Forrest), Makayla Mullis (John), Hunter Hilley (Catherine), Brooklyn Pangle (Chance), Anna Hilley, Michael Hilley, Isaac Pangle, and Hawke Precise; and her great-grandchildren, Harrison Fiquett, Maverick Rice, Everett Fiquett, and Hudson Hilley.

She is also survived by her siblings, Jackie Chitwood, Kathy DeMarco, Michele Adams (James), John Kilgro (Tammie), Patty Tucker (Michael), Lori Dickerson (David), Tom Kilgro (Maria), and Christy Jackson (Dale), along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Colleen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jimmy Jones, and her mother, Patricia Kilgro.

Colleen leaves behind a beautiful legacy of faith, love, service, and family. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on through the many lives she touched and, most especially, through the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren she loved so dearly.

Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her beloved Jimmy and resting peacefully in the arms of the Lord.

Pallbearers: David Dickerson, Wes Precise, Jeff Hilley, Jon Chitwood, Hunter Hilley, & Michael Hilley

My beloved parishioner for 10 years has taken leave of us and responded to God's call to come home. We will only know why it had to be now when we meet her again in eternity. I am blessed to have known this kind, loving, and caring woman. Colleen was the kind of person who never say NO to anything ever asked of her in helping another. Her response was always I WILL TRY. And that is all God ever desires of any of us. Our Faith tells us that Colleen has not gone from us, but rather she has gone before us to see, to praise, to love, and to intercede for us. So for a time, dear one, we bid you farewell and God-speed with our love and prayers. Amen

I worked with Colleen at W.Y. Shugart's & Sons. She was a wonderful friend. I've seen her at the grocery store sometimes and we talked. Sadly over the years we lost touch. I thought about her many times. Fly high sweet Colleen.

Matthew 5:8--Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall be God. This is how Colleen will forever be remembered by me. I only ever witnessed her kind, caring, engaged spirit.

I pray for the eternal rest of her soul. I pray for peace and comfort for all who mourn her passing. I regret not getting to know her better.
