Mr. Thomas Floyd Harrison, Jr.

January 24, 1946 – September 20, 2025

Thomas Floyd Harrison, Jr. entered into the presence of the Lord on September 20, 2025 with his wife and children by his side. His final years were hard, however he was a fighter not only for himself but also for his family. 2 Timothy 4:7 states “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

Tommy was born to parents, Thomas and Sybil Harrison, on January 24, 1946. He was his parent’s pride and joy. His legacy began as an only child of his parents, who loved him fiercely and taught him not only to love his family but also the love of Jesus. Tommy met the love of his life, Joan Carver, and the two were married on March 19, 1965. Throughout their sixty years, they welcomed their children, Tommy (Cindy), Jeff (Ashley), Laura (Dwayne), Amy (David), and Richard (Christy) into their family. They also had the pleasure of raising their oldest grandson, Coby (Brittany), as their son. In addition to Coby, they had 12 additional grandchildren, Tylor (Alayna), Melissa (Josh), Michael, Austin, Jessica (Chris), Lily (James), Brittney (Jesse), Anthony (Morgan), Samantha, Ethan (Sydney), Jordan (David) and Emma. He was blessed with 16 great-grandchildren, Luke (Maria), Brayden, Ava, Bella, Olivia, Addison, Callie, Blakely, Briley, Millie Kate, Carson, Grace, Carter, Adalynn, Henry, and Coby James (arriving soon). This family that started with Tommy’s parents, grew into a family of 43 and still growing. He loved his children, but the love he had for his grandchildren was the greatest love, and his grandchildren surely loved their PawPaw.

He did everything in his power to make all of his family’s hopes and dreams come true. What a legacy he is leaving for not only his family, but to all who knew him.

Tommy’s career was as a welder in the Plumbers and Pipefitters union, local 72 for most of his career. He also created his own business, Harrison Manufacturing, which included metal building construction, welding, propane, and so much more. His love shone bright through his business. He was constantly providing services for cost or free to those in our community. Tommy worked hard throughout his life, not for himself but unselfishly for his family. He passed on his love of welding to several of his grandchildren and loved watching them succeed. He taught all of his children and grandchildren the value of hard work. Proverbs 13:22 says, “A good man leaves an inheritance for their children’s children.” His inheritance is not riches or gold, it is love, caring, kindness, supportiveness, hardworking, patience, dedication, dependability and so much more. Our loss is Heaven’s gain and what a gain Heaven has received!

Tommy is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joan Harrison, children Tommy, Jeff, Richard and Coby Harrison, Laura McKenzie, and Amy Rigby. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Sybil Harrison.

Although he will be missed, he is in Heaven where there is no more heartache, pain or suffering. He is in the presence of God and heard these words, “You may enter in.”

Serving as pallbearers will be Coby Harrison, Tylor Harrison, Michael Harrison, Anthony McKenzie, Ethan Harrison, and Luke Harrison.
