Mr. Samuel Grady Weldon Whatley, 77, of Mentone, AL passed away at his residence on September 24, 2018. He was born on January 7, 1941 to Edward & Mayfred Willingham Whatley. Mr. Whatley was a longtime member of the Mentone Fire Department & Desoto Rescue Squad.

My greatest sympathies to the family!! I’m so sorry for the loss of a great man in your lives!
So sorry to hear about Sam. I haven't seen him in years and years but thought a lot of him. As a believer in God and Jesus I hope and pray to see him in Heaven some sweet day. I just learned this past April I have cancer like my father did and i am now taking radiation and chemo,. Thanks to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ I am doing fine at this time. God Bless
