Mr. Noah T. (Jack) Gilbreath Jr.

September 27, 1938 – January 3, 2026

Mr. Noah T. (Jack) Gilbreath Jr., age 87, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026.

Jack was a graduate of DeKalb High School Class of 1956. He received an Agriculture Degree from Auburn University and a Pharmaceutical Degree from Samford University.

Jack was a well-respected member of the Fort Payne community his entire life. He was a pharmacist by profession. He owned and operated Gilbreath Pharmacy, served as Pharmacist at DeKalb Hospital, Prewett Mill Pharmacy and K-Mart Pharmacy among many other local pharmacies.

Jack was a faithful member, Sunday School Teacher, Deacon and Lay Minister working for His Lord for many years.

Jack was a loving husband and brother. He loved his extended family and they loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Ann, his sister Sally Killian, wife of Roger Killian, and a host of extended family and wonderful friends. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Truman and Sara Gilbreath, and his brother, William Gilbreath.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the DeKalb County Children’s Advocacy Center (P. O. Box 680173   Fort Payne, AL 35968).

I am so sorry to hear of Jack’s passing. We went to church together when I was a child , and our families were very close . He was a good man .

I am so sorry for your loss. I grew up with Jack at FBC Fort Payne. I was in college at Samford when he started to pharmacy school. I rode back and forth with him because I didn't have a car. He was a friend.

My husband, Henry Christopher, who is also deceased, always enjoyed talking with Jack and Ann during the Dekalb Co. HS reunions. He always had many good stories and memories to share. He will be missed by many good people in Ft. Payne and beyond.
