Matthew Maupin was a man of faith, integriy, and compassion in predicting and interest in weather prediction. He went out of his way to inform others about severe weather. Matt had a passion with meteorology.
He was a people person, lover of life, the art of radio and voice-over work, and imaging. Major market radio talent, voice over actor, v/o talent, & imaging pro Charlie Van Dyke was a powerful influence in Matt's ŕadio career.
Matt loved children and animals, especially cats. Children at the elementary school he worked referred to Matt as "Kitty Man" due to his rapport, understanding, communication, and love for cats. Once Matt started hosting an overnight N. AL radio show at a powerful N. AL radio station.
After say, the second night there at the end of his show, Matt shared the following story. Several cats gathered outside the front door to greet him with no food to draw them there. Apparently, the cats felt his presence. Matt Maupin was apparently a "cat whisperer"
Above all, Matt was one off my best friends. He was filled with integrity, a man of integrity, and compassion. His word was his bond. You could count on Matt Maupin. He followed through and did what he said he was going to do. I share the same trait. My true long-tetm "one face" friends share the same trait of dependability, integrity, and trust. God bless you, Matt, and your earthly struggless with diabetes. Suffer no more for you have earned the kingdom of heaven!
