Mr. Carl L. Martin, age 89, of Fort Payne, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026.

Mr. Martin was born on April 4, 1937 in DeKalb County, Alabama to Jess & Beulah Martin. He worked in the steel industry for many years before his retirement.

He is survived by:

Wife of 70 years: Jean Martin

Son: Bryan Martin (Rhonda)

Granddaughters: Rachel Goolsby (Levi) & Rebecca Pope (Jared)

Great-Grandchildren: Denver Goolsby, Everett Goolsby, & Holden Pope

Daughter: Donna Hayes

Granddaughters: Jessica Hayes & Jacqueline Bradley (Dusty)

Great-Grandchildren: Charlotte Bradley & Louise Bradley

I am so very sorry for your loss. I grew up with the Martin’s as neighbors and Carl was always so good to us. I remember him helping keep our yard mowed when daddy was so sick with cancer. He was a good man and the kind of neighbor you love to have. Prayers for peace and comfort.
