Mr. L. D. Burt, age 91, of Fort Payne, Alabama passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025.

Mr. Burt was born in the Dogtown Community in DeKalb County Alabama on March 9, 1934 to Paul Franklin Burt & Angie Lee Hunt Burt. He was retired from the Fort Payne City School System where he worked in maintenance for many years.

He is survived by:

Wife: Faye Burt

Daughter: Denise Brock

Son: Alex Burt (Kim)

Grandchildren: Stacy Brock, Kaitlyn Burt, & Luke Burt

Sister-in-laws: Sue Burt & Pauline Benefield

Preceded in death by:

Parents: Paul & Angie Burt

Siblings: L. V. Burt, Estelle Simpson (Howard), Louise Wilkerson (Troy), Mary D. Burt (Hubert), & Virgil Burt

I did not know Mr. Burt personally, but I can tell you that one of his many significant contributions to the world was raising a son to be a selfless, courageous, and dedicated leader in the service of his country. The Morris Family is so very sorry for your loss.
