Ms. Madeline Grace Downer Dobbs, 86, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at her residence. She was born on August 28, 1931 to Homer and Ruth Keith Downer.

She is survived by:

Grandchildren: Clayton Dobbs (Windy)-Fort Payne, AL & Adrianne Williams (Donnie)-Colorado Springs, CO

Great-Grandchildren: Brayden Dobbs & Izzie Williams

Brothers: Dave Downer (Frances)-Chavies Community, AL & Marvin Downer (Patsy)-Chavies Community, AL

Sisters: Jan Broyles (Ray)-Chavies Community, AL & Margaret Hodge (Buddy)-Chavies Community, AL

Pallbearers: Ronnie Dobbs, Perry Dobbs, Mike Broyles, Tom Broyles, Preston Hodge & Gleen Earl Monroe

I have only now heard of Madeline's passing, I spoke with her on the phone just last week, Rick my hearts go out to you. We pray for God's comfort to cover you and your family. Jack and Madeline were like part of the family, she will be missed.

Rick — so sorry to hear of your Mother’s passing. Your mom and mine (Lee Dell Whitmire Johnson) we’re close friends from the first grade (Plainview) until forever... Madeline was a warm, gracious, loving person. She was the glue that held together the survivors of the BBVA takeover of Compass Bank. She will be genuinely missed by a host of friends (and relatives). Sadly, Terry Johnson, Fort Lauderdale (formerly Valley Head).
