Mrs. Priscilla Russell Shurtleff Gregory Monroe, 94, of Valley Head, AL passed away on Monday, April 1, 2019 at her residence. She was born on April 7, 1924 in Carver, MA to Perez L. & Alice Russell Shurtleff.

She served in the Marines during WWII and worked as a secretary for Dr. Noble and Dr. Weatherly. She was a faithful and loyal member of Valley Head Baptist Church for many years.

Son: James C. Gregory Jr. (Linda S.)

Grandchildren: Jason Gregory (Nicole Anderton) & Wendy Bryant (Michael)

Great-Grandchildren: Cory Dobbins (Keisha), Ariana Jenkins (Chris), Austin Harrison, Blake Gregory, Samantha Bryant & Dallas Gregory (Morgan)

Great Great-Grandchildren: Bradyn Jenkins, Carter Bryant, Ryan Dobbins, Samuel Dobbins, Jase Gregory & Jalen Gregory

Aunt Priscilla was always fun to be with and made you smile.
I loved that she always called her mom "Al"instead of Alice or Mom.
She was so proud to be a Marine Veterin
I will miss her.

Priscilla Gregory (as I remember her the most) was a very special lady; I remember spending the night at her house on the corner when I was a kid and I loved every minute of it.
I haven't seen her in a while but have never forgotten her friendly, loving way..

Ms. Priscilla was a joy to know and a true Marine. She will be greatly missed in NE Alabama Marine Corps League Detachment 1404. She was an inspiration. Semper Fi!
