Mr. James Samuel Moore

January 28, 1942 – December 31, 2024

Mr. James Samuel Moore, age 82, of Fort Payne, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Sheperd’s Cove Hospice.

Mr. Moore was born in Fort Payne, Alabama on January 28, 1942. He worked in Inventory Control for Kingsbury Homes until the company was closed. He then, along with Bob Inman, started Earthgrains Bakery Store which eventually became Sara Lee and worked there until his retirement. Mr. Moore also had 22 years of service in the National Guard and was the Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 62 from 1962-1967.

He is survived by:

Wife of 62 years: Phyllis Ann Moore

Daughter: Angela Moore Wiggins (Adam)

Brother-in-law: Robert Jones (Doris)

Several Nieces & Nephews

Special Friends: Geary & Helen Walker, Margaret Walls, and Chris Walls

Preceded in death by:

Grandchildren: Adam Neal “Nealy” Wiggins & Addalain Mae Wiggins

Parents: David B. Moore & Lillie May Roden Moore

Sisters: Cynthia Jane Fowler & Betty Carla Mauldin
