Mr. Howell David Cearley

October 5, 1937 – November 20, 2023

Howell David Cearley husband of Eleanor “Peach” Allison Cearley, passed away on November 20, 2023. David was born on October 5, 1937 in Temple, Texas, to his parents, Dennis Easton Cearley and Viola Bigham Cearley.

David served six years in the United States Navy and then worked as a radar field engineer at the FAA in Aurora, IL. In 1967 he was hired by Gulp Oil Corporation and moved to Houston, TX. In 1979 he was transferred to New Orleans as Telecommunications Manager for the New Orleans District. In 1982 he transferred back to Houston and in 1984 Gulf Oil was purchased by Chevron Corp.

David and Peach were married in Houston in 1988. In 1992 they moved to Irvine, CA where David was Information Technology Manager for Chevron’s Southern California Division. He retired from Chevron in 1997.

After his retirement, they moved to Alpharetta, GA and in 2006 they relocated to Greenville, SC.

David was an active member of Buncombe St. Methodist Church. His knowledge of the Bible was evident during the many Bible studies he attended.

David was predeceased by his brother and sister, James Milton Cearley and Fannie L. Cearley Klipple. He is survived by his son, Howell David Cearley Jr. (Wendy) and James Ronald Cearley (Michelle) and his brother, Donald Ralph Cearley (Caroline), all of Texas. He was the proud grandfather of Nicholas Ryan, Lucas, Marissa, Jackson, Brooklyn, Emma, Patricia, and Brittany Cearley.
