In the three years I knew Doug, he and I became close friends. We shared life stories and threw in some BS from time to time.
Doug was a great, kind man and I will miss his friendship.
My prayers for peace go out to his family in their time of grief.

I miss you so much Papa! I wish you were still with me but I know you will always be in my heart and always by my side. I will always remember you teaching me how to fish, shoot an arrow and a BB gun and go carts in Flordia. I love you. Your grandson, Peyton Welsh

Angie Chris & Family I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. I remember living near you all and we would play all over the ridges and not ever be afraid. I remember your Dad as always smiling and I loved your grandparents too. They were so good to me at a time when I didn’t get to see mine much. Your Mom made the best cookies and I remember them 46 yrs later. Lol I know it’s hard now but over time you will start to remember and smile I don’t think I will ever get over losing Dad but I am thankful that I can now two yrs later smile and remember and thank the Lord this is not an end but a beginning of eternity .You are all in our prayers love you all. Doug - I was so sorry to hear of your passing. We were supposed to get together for lunch and then you were gone. I will miss you coming by my office and chatting about Band Alabama and all about my Rangers here at Fort Benning, GA. You were a true friend and I will cherish that friendship forever. You will be sorely missed and my heart aches for your Family. My blessings to them all. I loved ya, partner, and will miss your friendship so very much. You're at the right hand of our Lord, Doug; we'll be hearing your music in our hearts forever. Rest well, dear Friend.
