Mr. Allen Russell Keith DeVore, 78, of Fort Payne, AL, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2019 at DeKalb Regional Medical Center. Mr. DeVore was born on May 10, 1941 in Fresno, CA to Glenn DeVore & Audrey Ruth Tunnell DeVore. He served in the United States Navy, worked in construction and also as a newspaper carrier.

Grandchildren: Shayna Cornils Hallas (Anthony), Brent Joseph Cornils (Marcy), Aaron DeVore (Haley), Matthew DeVore & Kimberlee DeVore Vittetoe (Ryan);

Numerous Great-Grandchildren;

Sisters: Denise Mills & Gwen Knox;

Brothers: Monty DeVore (Sherry) & Roger Stephen Mills;

Several Nieces & Nephews;

Step-children: Ron Rainer, Linda Smith (Gene), Bonnie Sorrells (Earl), Debra Walker (Marvin), Lisa Pate (Joe), Norma Jones (George) & Ernie Rainer Jr. (Beverly);

Step-Grandchildren: Heather, Wade, Ronnie, Rollie, Todd, Angela, Brad, Kevin, Marvin Jr., Kari, Joey, Shane, Amanda, Brett, Chris, Kendall, Jennifer, Kaitlyn & Laura;

Dad, I am so grateful I got to know you these last 2 years of your life. People say Carlos & I took care of you but we are so thankful that you took care of us also. We love you very very much and it's so hard for us that you were taken so quickly. We thought we had a little more time with you. You are precious to me and I now have the joy of knowing that my daddy really loved me. Everywhere we look there are memories of you! You showed Carlos & I both that you loved us and were grateful before the Lord took you home. I only hope you realize too, how very much we loved and still love you! Carlos & I both love you Dad. Rod, Angie, Carlos & I... That doesn't end at the grave. In fact it increases. You are in peace now with the Lord Jesus Christ, and we will see you, my sweet daddy, again. Until then we have precious memories.

Russ married to my sister for 25 or more years.. They loved each other very much. He showed his love her by caring for her when she developed alzhiemers. He was there for her 24 hours a day, 7 day a week.

My family thought the world of Russ, he was always there to keep an eye out for my mom. Fly high Russ, you are now with your sweet wife

Russ was a great neighbor to my mom for years. He was our “guardian” watching out for her. He was genuine gentlemen with a caring heart. Blessings to his family
